Random Things About Cari

Ok, everyone hates the team building exercises where you have to come up with three truths and a lie or fun and quirky facts about yourself. (at least I do)

But personal posts do the best on social media so here are some random (probably not so fun or quirky) facts about Cari.

  • I’ve lived in Iowa my ENTIRE life. I grew up in the same home in Fort Dodge from birth to college. From there I’ve lived in Polk City and Urbandale since 2009.

  • Halloween is my favorite holiday. I absolutely love everything about it (except it means winter is coming). I decorate my yard, but my fav part is the costumes. Yes, I dress up just to pass out candy. Some of my past favorites: Edward Scissorhands, Evil Queen, scary doll, Corpse Bride, Alice in Wonderland and Rainbow Brite.

  • I used to work for a Disney princess company. I would dress up as a princess and do birthday parties and events. Can you guess which princess? *Hint- she’s always losing her shoes.

  • I’m a great-great aunt to identical twin boys. Sounds impossible, but this is what happens when your parents have you at an old age.

  • I have one daughter and she inspires me in so many ways. She is a leukemia survivor and the strongest person I know.

  • My favorite TV shows are- Breaking Bad, Schitt’s Creek, Stranger Things, Game of Thrones (but God was the ending terrible) and Dateline. Where are my Keith Morrison fans at?

  • I hate watching movies and reading books more than once. I’m terrible at movie quotes but can remember music from movie scenes. A few movies I can watch over and over: Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion, Dazed and Confused, and Elf.

  • I love murder mysteries. Some of my favorite shows are Dateline and 48Hours. My mom started this love for me when I was a child. She was always reading Ann Rule books and I started reading them as well. My favorite childhood author was Christopher Pike. I did my college speech class presentation on Ted Bundy.

  • I’m a type A and planner. I love a good itinerary and attention to detail. I would love to claim that I’m a go with the flow person, but I do not go with the flow unless there is a plan in place.

  • Everyone has a guilty pleasure they are embarrassed to admit. Mine is celebrity gossip. Raise your hand if you grew up on US Weekly and Perez Hilton. My current way to indulge this pleasure is Deuxmoi, Beyond the Blinds and Fluently Forward podcasts.

Pretty basic, nothing that cool or shocking. :)

  • Keep on glowing- Cari
