It’s not just a name, Lusine is Skin Wellness.
CARI BACKES | NURSE AESTHETICIAN
Cari is known for her attention to detail and unique ability to connect with clients and listen to their needs.
Cari has over 15 years of experience working for dermatologists, plastic surgeons and in spa settings. In addition to her nursing degree attained in 2005, Cari also has an aesthetician license from the Aveda Institute. Cari believes that you can never stop learning and continually seeks out ways to broaden her knowledge and sharpen her skills. Cari has obtained countless skincare and injection certifications and has completed numerous courses to improve her craft.
Cari is passionate about proper skincare and bringing her clients top of the line products and innovative technologies. Cari’s favorite treatments are Botox, lip filler and treating clients who deal with acne.
When she’s not working Cari is usually shopping for Starbucks cups and Adidas shoes or spending time with her family and two dogs.
Meet Megan
MEGAN BRADLEY, ARNP - MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Megan is a family practice nurse practitioner from Grimes, Iowa. Megan has over 15 years experience working in the medical field. Megan received her undergraduate degree from The University of Iowa and her master's degree from Graceland University. She began her nursing career in the ER and also has experience working in family medicine, urgent care, pain management, integrated health, correctional healthcare, and cosmetic procedures.
Megan is certified in not only cosmetic injections, but also in interventional injections for pain management including regenerative stem cell therapy, intravenous nutrition therapy, and food sensitivity testing.
Megan is a Hawkeye fan, enjoys spending time outdoors (especially in her new pool) with her two daughters.
What’s in a name?
A COMMON QUESTION WE GET IS WHAT DOES LUSINE MEAN OR HOW DID WE COME UP WITH THE NAME
We wanted a name that wasn’t obvious but yet had significant meaning in what we do. Lusine means moon or glowing moon. As skincare providers we want people to leave with glowing skin and practice safe skincare by staying out of the sun. So we honor the moon vs the sun.
Lusina is a Roman goddess who safeguards women at work. As a female owned business this seemed fitting.
Lastly Lou/Louise/LuLu is a family name and it is a way to honor Cari’s mother who is not with us anymore but would be proud of Lusine Skin Wellness.
